Thinking of travelling and this hoopla over the Danish cartoons. The first Danish woman I travelled with was Lena. We first met in Istanbul, and then Xed paths a few times on our different paths towards Damascus, Syria, from where we hitch-hiked together around Jordan and Jordanian Jerusalem, way back in 1964. We were both travelling on the cheap, which was easy because of the incredible hospitality of the mostly Palistinian folk we stayed with. The hard part was the different sence of humor and danger to women travellers (we had some tense moments). I like Danes, as I like most Scandinavian folk. They have an easy sence of humor and do not carry a chip on their shoulders. They wish others well. Let's lighten up. I'm going to.
